Highly recommend Andrew Dominik's new film Killing Them Softly if you are fan of character-driven crime dramas. Has a great cast (Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta, James Gandolfini, Ben Mendelsohn), a cool soundtrack (Johnny Cash, The Velvet Underground, Kitty Lester) and some stunning cinematography. Makes terrific use of a bleak New Orleans landscape. Based on a 1974 novel but updated to the depressing economic times of the 2008 presidential election.
